DETAILS OF THE SOVEREIGN'S BIRTHDAY PARADE FROM 1890 TO DATE


27th May 1911 - The first Trooping the Colour parade during King George V's reign.
It was previously reported that no parade took place in 1911 due to the preparations for the coronation of the new king.

First time Duke of York is present as the Colonel of the Grenadier Guards.

For the third time in history, the Queen was accompanied by the Duke of Kent in place of her recently deceased husband, the Duke of Edinburgh. Full parade cancelled, and a short parade at Windsor Castle occurred as a result of 2020–2021 COVID-19 pandemic. It was configured to comply with social distancing standards
2022 Thu 2 June 1st Battalion, Irish Guards The Prince of Wales Held as part of the national celebrations for the Platinum Jubilee of the Accession of HM the Queen, Charles, Prince of Wales took salute on behalf of the Queen.
2023 Sat 17 June 1st Battalion, Welsh Guards King Charles III First for King Charles III to take the salute as sovereign and the commander in chief of the Armed Forces. Queen Camilla took her place as Colonel of the Grenadier Guards. William, Prince of Wales took his place as Colonel of the Welsh Guards and Catherine, Princess of Wales took her place as the Colonel of the Irish Guards. First parade since 1988 with all five Guards regiments participating. Additionally, 1st Battalion, London Guards, the foot guards' reserve unit, served as street liners and Prince Edward, Duke of Edinburgh took his place as their Colonel for the first time.
